Project: Conversion of a pair of farmworker’s cottages to 2 x 3 storey townhouses

Location: Jacques Cottage, Station Road, Bradfield, Essex

The client originally came to us requesting a design and build project on which the client had planning permission for two tiny cottages. Wright Ruffell Sturricks Ltd recognised further potential in the project alongside the client worked through a list of requirements for a new specification. Using their extensive planning knowledge and contacts Wright Ruffell Sturricks Ltd went on to obtain planning permission for the conversion of two derelict farmworker’s cottages into two, three storey semi detached houses each with four bedrooms and large en-suite bathrooms. The converted garage also offers guest accommodation.

Environment was a particular consideration on this project as the client wished to make the most of the view across the River Stour and the construction of the large flat roof with decking provided this.
